Hampton Home Living is growing, and we are looking to add a new member to our team!
Hampton Home Living is looking for a sales associate to assist customers at our retail store. In this role, the retail sales associate will guide customers through the shopping process, from initial greeting to final purchase. Providing insights and support, the sales associate will help strengthen our customer relationships and convert new patrons into repeat shoppers.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for engaging customers and resolving their concerns. The retail sales associate should be enthusiastic about people, the store and eager to develop new customer-service skills.
Sales Associate Roles and Responsibilities
- Greet customers and make them feel comfortable
- Deliver exceptional customer service, in store and over the phone
- Enthusiastically interact with customers, offer assistance and answer all questions about products
- Providing recommendations according to customer needs or preferences
- Inform customers about promotions and new products
- Locate merchandise on the sales floor, or backstock if necessary
- Operate cash register and handle cash payments and credit card processing
- Handle refunds and exchanges
- Demonstrate knowledge of products and services to customers
- Maintain a tidy shopping environment and welcoming atmosphere
- Represent the company with professionalism and enthusiasm
- Treat all customers with respect and courtesy
- Knowledgeable of all Company policies and procedures
- Ability to build lasting relationship with customers
- Capability to take on any task or challenge – help with inventory, pricing, cleaning
- Learn Lightspeed POS System to create price stickers
- Be a team leader and work respectfully with fellow team members
Required Skills
- 1-2 Years of Customer Service Experience
- Self-motivated
- Friendly and personable demeanor
- Confident and engaging personality
- Strong commitment to customer service
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Organized and tidy
- Basic math and computer skills
- Ability to lift merchandise weighing up to 20 pounds
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must be available 1 weekend day, preferably Sunday
Preferred Skills
- Experience operating a cash register
- Experience operating point-of-sale (POS) transactions
- Critical thinking, evaluation and analytical skills
